Things I’m Loving…

This quote from Jennifer Garner. Tell it, sister…

“I asked around, and apparently I have a baby bump,” the beautiful brunette star continued to DeGeneres. “I’m here to tell you that I do. I do have a baby bump. I am not pregnant, but I have had three kids and there is a bump. From now on ladies, I will have a bump, and it will be my baby bump. Let’s just all settle in and get used to it. It’s not going anywhere! I have a bump, it’s name is Violet, Sam, Sera.”

This new book–The Best Yes by Lysa Terkeurst. It’s all about making wise decisions in the midst of endless demands. If you’re the highlighting-in-books type, get ready for a lot of neon yellow. So, so good. Also, she just put out a children’s book that I plan to get the kids for Christmas–It Will Be Okay: Trusting God Through Fear and Change.

This Advent calendar, a collaboration between Naptime Diaries and my favorite Lindsay Letters. I might have to buy myself a candle that smells like evergreen–this has me so ready for Christmas.

These lounge pants. I may or may not have sent my bestie a text asking if it was appropriate to wear these outside the house. I mean they do say “lounge pants” not “pajama pants” so that seems like a for sure, “Heck yeah!” in my book. I did wear them when I stole the package off my neighbor’s front porch. (And by stole I mean “rightfully mine” but misplaced by my postman, but let’s not pick at that wound just yet.)

This Pumpkin French Toast recipe. We do breakfast for dinner around here a lot, and this is our fall favorite alongside scrambled eggs. So easy, so yummy!

This quote by Thomas Aquinas because I’ve been struggling a lot with fear related to my kids recently, “If the highest aim of a captain were to preserve his ship, he would keep it in port forever.”

I wrote this blog last week in the middle of the night. When I reread it in the light of day I realized how vulnerable it was, and I sort of wanted to take it back. But I’m glad it’s there because I needed the reminder tonight that they belong to Someone Else.
