How fast this first year has flown by. One minute Dr. Miller is saying, “It’s a girl,” and your daddy and I call you Lydia for the first time. The next minute you are saying, “Mama, Dada” over and over as you play with your animals and drift off to sleep. One minute you are grabbing my nose as your daddy holds you by my head so I could see your for the first time. The next minute you are waving to everyone in the grocery story and saying, “Bye” to Didi on the phone. One minute you have a head full of dark, silky hair. The next minute you are wearing pigtails as we light the candle on your birthday cake.
So many special moments, so many treasured memories that we packed into a single year. Still it feels like yesterday that I held you for the first time, and God showed me joy like I had never known before.
I love you, Lydia, more than you will ever know.
