Yep, it’s true. Our house is on the market. You can imagine the fun this has been with a six month old and a house that has to be clean around the clock… ah, yes… that’s the sound of gray hairs sprouting up as we speak 😉
We’ve wanted to move back to Mississippi for a while now, and about a month ago Matt and I were enjoying calzones with bubbly mozzarella (mine with fresh spinach and roma tomatoes) when we looked at each other and said, “What’s holding us back?” We did come up with one thing, but in the end we just couldn’t pass the opportunity up. After having Lydia, our hearts just ache to be closer to her grandparents and the rest of our family in Mississippi. Matt is blessed to work for the best boss ever, and he said it would be fine for him to work from Jackson, and so we began the home-selling process.
And a process it is… not much action yet, but we had Thanksgiving last week, so we are hoping for a little Christmas buzz in the housing market. As my friends with way more faith remind me, “It only takes one buyer.” And so we are waiting… and cleaning… and putting baby paraphernalia away… and cleaning… and putting baby paraphernalia away… you get the gist. We would appreciate your prayers that the house would sell quickly.
Oh, and as for that one thing that was holding us back… we have been blessed with friends who are like family here in Memphis. We are surrounded by friends who have laughed with us, cried with us, brought us meals after the miscarriages, brought us meals after Lydia’s birth. Friends we shop with, eat with, serve with and do life with. We will miss them more than I can even imagine. The mere thought of it opens a flood of tears, but we are moving home to the Hospitality State, so we’ll just have to have them all over.
