Every summer, I spent weeks at my Mamaw and Papaw’s Alabama farm. We woke up early when the earth was still pimpled with tiny drops of dew. When the heat reached its pinnacle, we would retreat inside, and Mamaw and I would watch I Love Lucy and snap green beans.
Yesterday, at the farmer’s market we loaded up on the beautiful green snaps. I think green beans go with just about everything, and this is my favorite way to cook them…
1. Cut the ends off and wash
2. Heat up olive oil in a saute pan
3. Sprinkle oregano over the olive oil (I use LOTS of oregano)
4. Throw in the green beans and stir until hot but still crunchy
