Spring

Every week I get the privilege of writing an eNews that goes to all our old and new Highpoint people. It’s my most favorite thing to do. This is my eNews from last week…

I’m staring outside my office window right now, loving the blue skies and sunshine. It feels like spring is just around the corner, and that is particularly comforting this week. In just a few weeks, the dry ground will be brimming with life once more, bright green and vibrant.

These past few days have been the toughest of my life… Sunday morning, I had a miscarriage and Matt and I lost our little baby. It was very early, but we had just seen the heartbeat and just told our parents so you can imagine how very excited we were.

Even though the pain is far greater than I could ever have imagined, God has been so faithful. He has laid this verse on my heart reminding me that spring will come, and I hope that whatever you’re going through today it might encourage you as well…

Romans 5: 3-5 “But we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”

Each of us is going through something right now, whether it’s big or small and we have a choice… to persevere or to give up. God is writing a unique story through each of our lives, and sometimes pain is a part of that story. But if we choose to persevere, waiting just around the corner is the promise of hope… the promise of new beginnings and new life.
